Hi my name is Sarah Lynn and I am a qualified holistic and beauty therapist and I run my own salon from my home based salon here in Birchgrove, Swansea. If it's ok with you, I just thought I'd take a couple of minutes of your time and introduce myself.
Well the story starts over 9 years ago when I decided to take a "taster" course in Reflexology in my local school and as I thoroughly loved it and its possibilities, decided I would like to train to become a practitioner so I could help many others with the health conditions. However, mother nature came along and I fell pregnant with my gorgeous daughter Jessica and so my plans fell to the way-side!
Shortly after Jessica was born, we realised that something wasn't quite right and she was diagnosed with suffering from migraines, which as you can imagine in a child is awful to watch and I would have given anything to trade places at those times. The doctors advised that there was nothing they could do apart from the normal childs paracetamol etc. Her migraines would come fairly frequently when she was little (once every 3 weeks or so) and would leave her very poorly for 36 hrs or more, with the normal symptoms of headaches, sensitivity to light, sickness, poor coordination etc.
Being the kind of person that I am, I wasn't satisfied with that and so decided if I trained in Reflexology hopefully I could help my little girl through her pain. Using reflexology together with traditional medication (Calpol, baby nurofen) seemed to help her and I was encouraged to train in more and more complimentary therapies. Since then I have qualified in numerous modalities including Swedish Massage, Indian Head Massage, Reiki, Hopi Ear Candling and Emotional Freedom Technique plus my many beauty techniques offered here.
Jessica continued to get migraines and was eventually diagnosed with Cyclical Migraines which meant as she grew she suffered less frequently. Now thankfully, they are few and far between, and Jessica is used to the signs so we can work together to limit her "downtime". I do wish however, that EFT had shown itself to me 9 years ago, with its amazing ability to heal, as I feel I could have helped Jessica a lot more efficiently than I did (still, they say hindsight is a wonderful thing!)
Shortly after I qualified in Reflexology, I decided I would like to open a therapy room, and promptly found myself some rooms above a local Chiropodist, where I worked part-time evenings and weekends, offering my services to the public. It started to take off, but I still wasn't self sufficient income wise to give up my day-job in a local bank where I worked then as a Data Analyst, after working my way through being a Customer Service Rep, a team coach and a team leader. However, I am a big believer in fate, and again the Universe had other ideas on my life purpose. Due to a serious of events and incidents in work, I was feeling continually under stress, and felt that nothing I did was appreciated and that the goal posts were forever being moved. I would spend many evenings in tears and Sunday evenings were horrible as I set myself up for "yet another awful week". I am sure that many people can resonate to this and if its you, I completely understand where you are!
I finally felt like I had lost the plot big time, and handed in my notice, not having any employed job to go to but feeling that at that moment in time, I just couldn't continue the way I was. Receiving healing holistic treatments myself, together with a very understanding husband and family, I felt able to look for part time work to fund myself whilst I was still growing my business. Although the staff were great, my part-time office job was mind-numbingly boring and I just keep feeling that there has be more to life than this. At the same time, again a serious of events at the Chiropodists where I was renting room, prompted me to look for another location.
I then decided to take the huge plunge (or that's how it felt at the time) to go completely self employed and so resigned from my part-time office job, gave notice at the Chiropodists and found myself some nice little rooms based at a local Leisure Centre. Business blossomed and I decided to take on 2 therapists to help cover my busy diary, then followed a receptionist and for a little while, life was hectic but good. However, the Universe again played her hand and life took a turn for the worst, with increasing bills and not enough income, I made a huge decision to close my salon in the Leisure Centre after nearly 3 years of trading there. I um'd and ah'd for a long time, would my clients come with me, or would I be back to starting my client base from scratch, I didn't know! I decided to work from home and to go back to working on my own with no other staff. My business continued to grow and I felt more "normal" than I had done in ages, with friends and family commenting on my more "relaxed" appearance.
That was 18 months ago, and since I came home to work, I have undergone some serious self-growth and using Emotional Freedom Techinque in particular, I have banished a lot of my self limiting beliefs to the bin and feel much more confident as a person. I have made the decision to work with a business mentor who is opening my eyes up to the amazing possiblilites I can do with my business. For a little while in my life, I have had a feeling that I wasn't quite on the correct path and hadn't completely come across my life purpose as yet. Following a business event, where I met and mixed with an amazing array of different people, I now know that my life purpose is to help other women, mums and mumpreneurs to lead the most fulfilling life they can, so if you're up for a change and convinced that "there must be more to life than this!", make sure you come and see me and together we can work towards getting the life you want in all areas of your life.
The road ahead may still not be smooth, but I know now I can cope with anything life can throw at me and look forward to the next 9 years being just as scary and exciting!!
Hope that gives you a little bit of an insight into me, as a person. If you feel you can resonate with any or all of my story and would like to share yours with me, including fulfilling your future goals, please email me and let me know. I'd love to hear from you.
Remember a life with no mistakes, maybe safe but is definately boring! Take the leap and decide to make mistakes, you'll never regret any of them, cos you'll learn so much!
Thanks for your time. With love & hugs
